Jilted

This is a steamy fast past novel. The writing was very modern and highlighted some issues usually faced by those in the celebrity world. Often times we look at Celebrities and we forget that they are human as well. The ending was quite interesting. I would recommend for anyone who wants a quick romance novel read.

The Red by Tiffany Reisz

HERE BEGINS MY LOVE FOR THE AUTHOR

This novel, short and mind blowing will leave readers, shocked and in awe. The writing is near perfect, and the author did a fantastic job keeping the reader enthralled. The genre of the novel is a mix of erotica and fictiol. There are steamy passionate and completely sinful sexual scenes. These are thoroughly described, with nothing left to the imagination. My senses were deeply opened and blown away by the scenes presented.

There is a very strong story line and excellent character build up. The conclusion is legendary! A very surprising twist which i did not see coming , but lends to an exquisite end. This is not typical love story. I guarantee that it is a good read!

A Beast's Belle

This book was listed as Erotic fiction, and it was not true to its name. It was a interesting play on the traditional Beauty and the Beast story. I'm not saying it was a poor book because it was well written with strong characters, however, their development was inconsistent. It was an "ok" book, that one can take the chance to buy. I was disappointed in the not almost cold erotic scenes. I received an advance copy for an honest review.

Nursing a grudge

I did not finish. This book began to lose sight of the plot and I could not keep up with the author. After numerous attempts I had to conclude that I could not finish it.

Jack was here

Let me start with the positives. This book blew my expectations ( but yes I still gave 3 stars, you shall see why later).

Very good writing style. No first person( which is despise) unless in active conversation. Very few grammatical errors, actually I only came across one. The story was a good one. This was the first time I came across a novel with this plot. Although, it did become somewhat overwhelming and irritating toward the end.
The book gives real world perspective on the lives of tourist ( silly tourist) travelling into Thailand and Cambodia. Many leave their confined lives and find themselves getting up to mischief in these countries.
There is a murder scene or two but they were unavoidable ( be sure to have a strong stomach). This book is somewhat explicit but what do you expect it is Thailand and Drugs!

I am not going to reveal any spoilers but i do have a few questions.
From the description we see that he is a veteran who suffers from PTSD and that he was somehow on the path to total self annihilation. I did not get that perspective from the book. Beside the mention of him visiting his therapist and missing medication, I was not of the opinion that he was heading toward self destruction. Could this be due to the fact that there is a stereotype associated with mental health. There are many types on mental health issues and for those with PTSD they each experience it in a unique way. The book did however, pay some tribute to the lackadaisical effort the mental health professional put into supporting people. They were portrayed as just trying to fulfill some Ego trip. Was this the authors experience? Well I won't know. But it was good to highlight that there is a lack of genuine care for those who truly need support.

Also, in the beginning mention is made of Amber, I spent the entire book wondering what was the point of giving such detail mention of Amber when later on in the books she plays no part of Hugh Experience in Poipet or the rest of the book in general.

There is mention of child prostitution, and it gives full details about the drug smuggling trade in Thailand and Cambodia. There is also an epic final battle, which brings everything to a close.

It is worth the read. I was tuned of by the fact it was listed as thriller, but turns out is exceeded my expectation.

Girl Logic

This one came from my new favorite genre YA. I thoroughly enjoyed the story line. I loved the characters and the build up to the big finale.

Activating happiness

My first thought based on the description was that it was a sort of self help book. The book proved to be semi-correct. It was an ok read. If you are looking for something to past the time.

Autumn Sonata

It was absolutely remarkable reading this historical romance. I particularly, enjoyed the excerpts of World War II and the fact that it was fact based rather than fiction. It lent a feeling of realness to the novel. The ending was the greatest part ( trying not to reveal too much information). I guarantee that this is a must read.

This shirt won't iron itself

I am not going to post a long review because I do not have many good things to say. I felt misled by the description and the cover page. I was expecting something totally different. However, there were no grammatical error and the writing was smooth and transitional. The story line was a good one.

The Man I thought you were

This was a book based on miscommunication and excessive love between two individuals. The first few chapters turned me off completely but eventually, i came to understand how miscommunication can literally destroy lives ( marriage, friendship) and mental and emotional well being.

Georgia Peaches and other Forbidden fruit

I think this book was amazing. It told a very unique story ( one part far fetched and one part realistic). It could go both ways. It tell the story of young love ( Two girls) in a unique fashion. I felt that the story was sort of slow in progressing and then the end was a bit rushed.

The main characters are lovable and can be easily related to. A father trying to impress in new wife " Three" but while doing that slowly crushing his daughter spirit. It was amazing to see how the characters each solved their various conflicts. The effects of " posting pics" on social media helps bring the story to an interesting end.

It is not a must read, but I did enjoy it

The rules of rebellion

The author is an amazing author and I have seen better work than this ( Rules of Persuasion by same author).

I think maybe I expected too much from this book and should have just considered it a simple, YA read.

It started off great, the characters were well developed and their story line was different. However, the climax was more like an anti climax and it fell flat.

I could have finished this book in one day but it was prolonged to three days, because the story became cliche. Its everything you see on T.V ( teenage bullying, which while it is an epidemic I am seeing many books and movies about it with no real action being taken).

With that said, feel free to read. Just don't expect too much.

A Princess in theory

The cover is lovely and it was a good effort by the author.

The Climax to the story was well executed.

I however, did not like this book and I had to give it 2 stars. The characters were confusing. The "princess/betrothed" was a major push over and the Prince was a major douche bag. He called her a " saint bernard". I do not know how she ever recovered from this insult to even sleep with this guy. It was a good effort to give a modern twist to the Cinderella story and for promoting girls in science " stem". The characters were just not likable or relate-able.

Great story line but the characters were just not likable

My not so secret love affair with the Beach

Sea, Sun, Waves, Lounging, drinking a rum punch.

Reflecting, relaxing, peaceful, easiness, love, hope.

A true Caribbean girl, nature lover, bring a box of wine and lie on the sand.

Umbrella over my head and in my coconut drink.

Waves crashing, erasing the pain of the day, PEACE.

Toes in the sand, salt on my body, slight cool sea breeze blowing.

Scent of sea salt, of the fishes and other marine life.

Feel of the sand between my toes, touch of the water caressing my body, slight shiver and sigh of utmost pleasure.

Je T'aime la mer.

Nature island

"What else is there to do?" she pondered in a most annoyed voice. Its Sunday, the Lords day, the day Christopher Columbus discovered ( oh so it says in the history books, but that another story for another Sunday), the island of Dominica. The nature island of the Caribbean.  A land with 365 rivers ( so it has been recorded, have they ever been counted, again another story for another Sunday), should I visit one of the 365 or one of the black sandy beaches.

The beach it is. It was always going to be the beach ( who am I kidding really). Suddenly, with this writing I am not so annoyed anymore. Maybe it is true that writing soothes the soul. Time will tell.

To a black sandy beach it is, on this hot afternoon.

A difficult man to love

It was extremely difficult to finish reading. I usually love the genre and i admire the author. I have read countless Elizabeth Lennox novels. What i absolutely hated was how Hayden suddenly became a simpering idiot, who could not longer stand up for herself. How she was so absolutely in love with the man. I was so inspired when the novel started of with she had " told him of" and "given him a piece of her mind". However she became another simple fool all in the name of love. There was no reason to make her become a complete pushover who could not long think for herself. I have read novels by this authors where the "lady" though she may have had financial or emotional or whatever type of issues still stood her ground. IN these cases not only was the heroine respected, the book mildly sampled reality

Book Review Trevor Noah Born a Crime

I would it was an amazing semi-autobiography by Trevor Noah. it was a good first attempt. I think he just wanted to share his amazing story. It truly was a source of his history under apartheid in South Africa. There was a serious tone to the book but it was coupled with a few laughs. It made for a nice read. However, he clearly isn't a novelist ( and yes I know he never claimed to be one). I say this because while there were no profound errors grammar or otherwise, his story was hard to follow in some cases. The story kept jumping from one scene to the next, and it was a bit difficult to put the pieces together. For example, in one part he mentioned briefly his step dad was cruel. In the final chapter was the only time the timeline came together. So in this case, the story was no easy to follow through but nonetheless I got the gist of it

" The dream always begins the same"..Kingsly
Favorite quote " " ...she was sucking his cock like she'd been poisoned and this was the only way to get the antidote."
I absolutely love Tiffany and her writing style. She captivated me with her penning of the Red. This book the Chateau is part of a series but I read it as a stand alone. It began with a bang and the ending was soothing to me ( I am a sucker for happy endings).

3 stars for this book ( maybe because it started with such angst and then i was let down a bit)

Get ready to explore the world of S&M and many other sexual fantasies and desires that you have never heard about ( maybe). It tells the story of King and his tumble into a sex cult ( is it really though?) He seemed to enjoy it way to much. But the story unfold with him Searching for Leon and let it be known when the identity of Leon is revealed it was a shocker!
The story was succinct and was easy to follow through. I felt the climax to the story was a bit lacking and a bit sad as well. It could have been more explosive. Nonetheless, worthy story line for those who love this genre and this author.
There was literally one grammatical error i found in this book.
There was mentioned of the Caribbean island of St. Croix and since i am an island girl i appreciated that.
Why didn't Kingsley wear GPS when he first went to the Chateau? Maybe he didn't
want to be tracked.
I didn't understand what his dreams were about and I kind of got annoyed with his dreams until the very end.......Enter Father Soren and all the depravity he brings to the story ( suicide, beatings and extreme S & M)

Great book and awesome read

It was amazing!
